this wine, for me, is in a beautiful place. still has fruit, beautiful mouth feel. real smooth, and totally captures the velvet glove in the iron first. i think i will be doing a blind tasting of some barolos from this time period to see who can pick the traditionalists from the modernists. because this bottle was rocking.

oh my. this bottle has fallen off a cliff. no fruit left, just a bunch of funk. for my palate, this wine was much better in its youth.
in looking at my previous notes, this wine was always a bit burley and rustic, and the aging curve seems to be in line with my previous notes. it was never a charmer, and at 17 years old, it still is not.

good bottle. very pretty for a gevrey. has nice density to it. but similar to other tastings, i have found 2010s to be aging a bit quicker than i would have expected. nonetheless, a terrific showing for this bottle.

7/22/2026 10:22:00 PM - Hi, we're on the Westside and Burgundy-obsessed. We're hoping to meet a few nearby couples who enjoy serious Burgs without the trophy mindset and believe the best bottles are meant to be shared around a dinner table.
We love cooking, discovering great restaurants with good corkage policies, and hosting dinner parties where everyone brings a bottle, a story, and an opinion. We're drawn to people who are curious, thoughtful, generous, and genuinely enjoy lingering over great food, great wine, and even better conversation. Our favorite evenings are when the bottle opens slowly and the conversation does too.
If this sounds like your kind of evening, please reach out.
