This bottle was all black berried fruit with a little blackcherry. On the nose there is a little meaty pepperiness. In the mouth it's all jubey blackberry, a little earthy underpin, and the lightest tannic whisper...Fresh and simple, young, slight non-intrusive alcoholic warmth is easily tamed by serving at about 18C. kind of nice.

Show wines decision making (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Very slight cream, blackberry, sweet spice, slight oak. Juicy acidity tends to medium plus intensity, black hued fruit; berry and plum, softly tannic burr, slight alcohol warmth on the finish. Okay.

At bottling. Blackberry, a little earth and plum; pretty fruit, touch of lozenge and complete here as well. On the palate it is juicy, fresh and fleshy, fruit 'pops' tannins are a soft whisper but in support and help carrying the fruit on the finish where a little peppery note joins. Nice.

Barrel Sample - Press Juicy medium plus intensity aromas of black fruits - berries and plums, and a hard green herbaceous note, earth, struck match. On the palate it's a little sweet and sour initially, drying though lightly textured tannins, black fruits, all travel long. Hmm.

Barrel Sample - Free Run juice Spicy, warm blackberry fruit; very fruit pure, clean, slightly meaty underpin, a little reductive. Juicy, fleshy, the palate is a reflection of the nose with lightweight tannins that tug at the tongue like a child pulling at an adult's sleeve. Promise.
