Parker got it just right. Enjoyed at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Ft Worth. This is a darker side of Rhone. Although this wine is mostly made of Grenache, the pour, nose, taste, and finish are darker than you'd expect for a Southern Rhone wine. The wine was poured into the glass with a dark red hue. Medium bodied for sure, but as it sat over an hour at dinner it became amazingly dark. On the nose, this one had black licorice, raspberry, and a hint of black cherry. On the palate was a wine devoid of acidity, with first a lot of blackberry and boysenberry and anise, which was a segway to pipe tobacco. It was here where the herbal and floral lavender kicked in. The finish was rather devoid of tannin. For this wine to be drinking like this right now, I can assure you it's not done yet. I think this one with 1-2 more years of bottle aging might even cross 93 as I look for it to gain some darker complexity in the middle. Done by 2015.

I really enjoyed this. Had with sashimi with vegetables and rice in japanese resaurant run by Koreans. Very nice glasses and food is great also. Smells quite complex with stewed fruit and sweet strawberry and licourice. quite concentrated. On the palate medium to full bodied, juicy and very drinkable with typical spicy rhone character. Very ripe but not overripe. Abit simple on the mouth, that is why it is great everyday drinking wine. One of the best cote du rhone so far, step up from mont redon cote du rhone 2003 and 2005. Highly recommended!

Medium red. It starts out very well when decanted. Lots of meaty southern Rhone notes in the nose. Hints of raspberries and cherries. The nose isn't half as interesting as the flavours. Lots of finish. Needs 2 or 3 years.

Perfect with thanksgiving turkey. Nicely aging. Cassis. Cherry. Chocolate. Some nutmeg even. Can you believe?
