Steinertals at Seasonal (Seasonal, NYC): Remarkably fresh and light for an '06; there's a ton of material here with more concentration and power than other vintages, yet it conveys flavour with remarkable elegance and freshness.

Steinertal Vertical (Seasonal): Thankfully this has opened up enough since my last foray into it that it's beginning to show again some of that spectacular array of complexity it started out with a few years ago, it's just a pure power chord that seems to hit more notes than you can count, although focused on the higher-pitched end of the spectrum.

Painfully young with an incredible power. Floral, anise and green apple notes with a full body (a whopping 14%) with medium aicidty. Build for the long term, it will be interesting to follow its evolution.

Austrian Rieslings Part I (Vin Vino Wine, Palo Alto, CA): Nose is a bit reticent, slightly tropical. Off-dry palate, balanced fruit and medium acidity, well-integrated with smooth transitions. Touch of heat is the only nit.
