  • Served blind, pnp, and tasted alongside Duroché Latricieres Grand Cru 2001

good and yound nose, tertiary aromas, but still enough fruit left, which is pleasant

palate: still incredible tension and power and structure, good acidic backbone, very ripe forest fruits, enormous acidity, licorice, hints of animalistic aromas, wet sous bois
has a good base and still some aging potential

compared to the duroche latricieres 2001 much riper and more present and agreeable fruit.

  • Ready to go! Mature but stlill lively. Solidity intact cork. The acidity pulls it through. Leather, mushrooms, earth (nice healthy spring tones) and some black fruits. Black currents, prunes and black cherry were all mentioned. Not monumental, but really delicious. The wine held up without fade for 3 hours. Have heard some negative comments regarding the 97's, but no faults here. Oven roasted root veggies, pork tenderloin. Life is good.

  • Clear ruby with a brief tawny rim. Initially a little musky and distinctly tart, a little air did this wine a lot of good. Nose of dark tart fruits, cassis, leather, a little fresh blood. The entry is smooth and sweet, expanding to coolly vinous plum, blackberry and a powerful but pleasant gaminess, with certainly mature tannins. The finish shows freshness, long and again slightly sweet and leathery, this is a very good Burgundy, not great, but still delicious. Enjoyed with roast duck with cherry port sauce.
