  • I must have missed the point on this wine. Rarely do I pay ~£20 for a wine and don’t at least enjoy it.
    I must have missed the timing. At 15% alcohol, it is probably best drunk in a few years (vs. 3 years post vintage). But I don’t know.
    Extremely pleasant on the nose. There is power, stone fruit, blossom. You can feel flavours jumping out, even over the strong alcohol.
    Then it gets to the mouth and there is weirdly just the power. Somehow the nose gets lost,. Even if you hold it longer, swish it around… still noting.
    So I kept half the bottle for the next day. Still nothing. Maybe it needs another day. Or some years.
    But it will be hard for me to buy again, when compared to other Barbera’s I have been trying.
