  • Complex, elegant and unique. Wines in this natural, semi-orange style are usually hit or miss; in this case, definitely a hit.

  • Croatian orange wine from Istria: Malvasia Istriana. 15 % alcohol. Macerated for almost three months at a temperature of 22 - 25 degrees Celsius. Pigeage was performed three times per day. Aged for two years in big wooden barrels (1000 to 2500 l).

    Beautiful amber color.

Round and powerful aromas of boiled apples, apricot, honey, exotic spices, lemon, butter and minerals. Powerful and complex flavors of yellow apples, honey, smoke, beewax, lemon, licorice and minerals.

Dry. Medium body. Medium acidity. Smooth tannins. Okay balance. Good structure. Powerful. Complex.

    Short finish with lemon.

A good orange wine that unfortunately doesn’t reach the heights of the previous two vintages. Quite frankly I much prefer the white Ottocento from this vintage. Best served close to room temperature. 90/100
