  • Drunk before the profound Coleraine 2013, this outstanding oak-aged SB set the stage for a memorable meal. Gorgeous oak nuance adds weight and charm to the herbal, very Hawkes Bay interpretation of the varietal. Like the Coleraine, balance comes to the fore. This is a delicious wine that also partners very well with food. Drunk witha spicy Korean soup of soft tofu, Chile, and seafood, which worked surprisingly well!

  • Light gold in the glass. Moderate green gooseberry nose, sweetness and exotic fruits, nectarine and peaches. Very interesting. Wonderful flavours, not typical NZ SB, lively greenness, rapier sharp initial acidity, no sweetness at all, yet juicy and very fine. This is rather good. Would like to see what age will do to this one, but in the meantime enjoy fresh. Finished this a couple of days later, and has softened the acidity and lovely juicy tangy freshness is there. Really good.

  • Great nose! Sort of bloomy, almost nectarine skin-contact W/Bx. Exotic, nicely integrated wood, passion fruit, guava, creamy, honey/wax notes… loads here. Fantastic!

Feels higher acid vs Estate SB. Tangy and sour in parts, lots of phenolic grip. Juicy and long, with pronounced mineral sensations and tense too. Long, fragrant, toasty and mealy finish. Excellent.

  • Light hay color. Fuller than traditional SB on nose with ripe peach, pineapple and melon. Dry, tart acidity, palate follows through. Medium- body, ok balance, medium- finish.
