This was blinded on me again (also in July) by my brother. I immediately identified this as Zinfandel and settled on Amador County, 2021 vintage, high quality - $30 price point. Nice guess! This showed better than the bottle in July - not sure if was a better bottle, or the additional age, or maybe a palate difference. I think it says something that this was identified as Zin by multiple tasters and all thought it to be high quality before the reveal.

Fresh fruit forward focusing on red fruits. Cherry and strawberry Cola. Slight tart finish. Decanted 30 Minutes. One of the lower priced single vineyard Turleys in mid 30’. Would buy again. Good bony great

15.6% abv. Brought by my brother to a blind family Zinfandel tasting. This was typical Turley for me, in the over-ripe realm with a little roasted note, noticeable supporting oak, and high alcohol. Good for the style, but I found the alcohol spike stood out and was a little distracting. I would have figured this to be the highlight of the tasting, but nobody was really enthused with it.

I’m finding that the 2020 Turley Zins need a decant prior to serving. Very tight and monolithic straight out of the bottle, this offering was a very different wine after two hours in the decanter. Dark cocoa, lush blackberries, spice and hillside herbs. Drink now to 2026. Worth Seeking Out.

I thought this would need more bottle time but no! Pleasant zin fruit on day 1 and 2. Drink inside next 5 years
