The Vina Real is better than the regular CVNE Crianza and the Organico. 1 of 2 and I wish I had more but had to mail order as my local store doesn’t carry. Worth seeking out. Very smooth and easy to drink for the price. Right amount of tannin and not too much wood. Paired well with grilled pork loin.

Classic Tempranillo nose of cherry, dried fruit, pipe tobacco, with a heavy dose of coconut – American oak all up in here. It’s quite savory and acidic, and perhaps lacking a bit of the tannin I would expect from a Tempranillo (the tannins are there, they’re just subdued), so it seems a bit lopsided. I want something more here, but it’s not bad.

I did not like this initially. No decant and PnP was bitter with a blast of acid the just overwhelmed everything else. Put the cork back in and revisited two days later. Much better, with better balance. Showing cassis, plum, a bit of tobacco. The bottom line is that you need to decant this (several hours at least) if you're drinking now.

Nice lower-end Rioja. Very dry and puckery, but shows good aging potential.
