1h decant. Color: Impenetrant/red. Dark for barbera. Nose: Floral. Maybe some cherries and earth. Kind of tight. Flavor: Alive with red fruit on the palate. Good acid. 2 flavors here: light/bright sour red fruits and clay. A little flat on the midpalate. Finish: A really good sour grip on the tongue accompanies the rich clay flavor for 30+ seconds. Slightly hot in the throat.
Will probably mature nicely with age, but the 2005 bruno rocca asti definitely stands out as the better wine right now.
