The wine is clear, with pale lemon color, and thick legs.
On the nose the wine id clean, with medium primary aroma intensity of ripe white citrus fruits, lemon, lemon zest, grapefruit, floral notes, hints of white flowers, herbaceous.
On the palate the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus primary aroma intensity of ripe white fruits, fresh grape must, hints of citrus fruits, and tropical fruits. Finish is long.
The wine is of a very good quality, as it is showing excellent balance between fruit concentration, acidity, and minerality. It is complex, with great depth and intensity.
The wine was expressive enough at time of tasting, and although being quite youthful, definitely giving a hint of how great it can be in several years of bottle aging. Vibrant, appealing, delicious wine.

Friday at the shack (Willamette Wine Storage, Portland OR): The nose is deep and intense, filling the glass with loads of gooseberries, lemon peels, crushed rocks, saline, white fruits, peaches, flowers, papaya, and nectarines. This is a nose that ramps every bit of Sancerre up like 3 notches. There's so much going on and it's like an electric light show. The Medium bodied feel is well balanced and fresh with racy, high acidity. The acidity also shows off the electricity of the nose while the feel shows off all sorts of class and poise. This is such a great vineyard and producer. When those two things meet, you can get something pretty friggin killer and that's exactly what's going on here. This likely could benefit from a few years to calm down a little bit, but holy hell is it something right now.

Pop and pour. At refrigerator temp to start. On the nose: lovely gooseberry, quince and grass, with some glossy va notes as well. On the palate: solid acidity, white pepper, gooseberry, grapefruit, and weirdly a touch of heat leading into some quinine flavors on the close. Solid, but I'm wondering if this btl is representative, since the heat is not something I've ever gotten on a Boulay Monts Damnes before....

Pale straw. Gentle gooseberry aromas. Wonderful, restrained flesh on the restrained Sancerre spine. Again, slight gooseberry flavours. A wonderful accompaniment to pan fried salmon. Now for maybe 5 years. A joy.
