  • Deep rich purple , well done , what you would expect from a flagship wine . Top notch juice , plenty of fruit , a mouthful .

  • I've had this a few times over the past number of years and it's finally starting to open out a little bit. I think this will age seamlessly for another 30 years but it's very impressive at the moment. Fine, without being showy. Complex, without being wild. Dense, yet lithe. Red & black fruits, but mostly a savoury mineral wine. A joy!

  • Very nice wine. I agree with the previous note by Robmatic. This is a wine that provides a lot to think about. Enticing but not showy nose that opened slowly over a couple of hours. The flavors were there from the get go with a combination of black and red fruit and an underlying spiciness (licorice, cinnamon) that added interest. The 10% cab really added an extra layer of interest to this wine that was apparent when tasted next to a very nice 2004 Nit de Nin that was pure grenache. I'd like to taste this from one of the very top vintages.

  • Super concentration and extraction, but without jamminess or excessive apparent alcohol. Fantastic acidity and minerality give this a youthful, vigorous mouthfeel, while dark fruit and licorice fill out the voluptuous flavor profile. Ripe, yet very refined. Expectations were high for this bottle, and it did not disappoint. Great juice.
