  I've had this a few times over the past number of years and it's finally starting to open out a little bit. I think this will age seamlessly for another 30 years but it's very impressive at the moment. Fine, without being showy. Complex, without being wild. Dense, yet lithe. Red & black fruits, but mostly a savoury mineral wine. A joy!

  Very nice wine. I agree with the previous note by Robmatic. This is a wine that provides a lot to think about. Enticing but not showy nose that opened slowly over a couple of hours. The flavors were there from the get go with a combination of black and red fruit and an underlying spiciness (licorice, cinnamon) that added interest. The 10% cab really added an extra layer of interest to this wine that was apparent when tasted next to a very nice 2004 Nit de Nin that was pure grenache. I'd like to taste this from one of the very top vintages.

  Super concentration and extraction, but without jamminess or excessive apparent alcohol. Fantastic acidity and minerality give this a youthful, vigorous mouthfeel, while dark fruit and licorice fill out the voluptuous flavor profile. Ripe, yet very refined. Expectations were high for this bottle, and it did not disappoint. Great juice.
