This is just so good - everything you'd want a Condrieu to be. Hedonistic white fruit, but tight and inbalance with acid and a slightly spicy dry finish that keeps you coming back for more. The best year for Condrieu in a while - this Perret Chery would probably only be beaten by the 06 (in its prime), which was more opulent and hedonistic. This is a touch more intellectual, if Condrieu can be that

Opens up with a terrific nose of pear, apricot, salt and wet stones. This is certainly more on stones, salt and soil notes than I have ever experienced before in a young Chery. Great purity of fruit and focus on the palate, very precise. This is Condrieu with finesse and elegance but with still with rich and fat texture on the back. This could very well be grand vin in the making.
