  • Tasted vis-a-vis the Rostaing, this is the more classic Condrieu-wine - and superior IMHO. On day 1 quite exotic, tell-tall mango, confit d'orange, melon, citrus etc., a bit more calm on day, speaks of potential, I think. Will wait a couple of years before trying the next one.

  • Pop and pour. About 3 years since my last btl. Hmm. This hasn't aged into something as compelling as the 15 at a comparable stage. On the nose: soft florals, tangerine, citrus leaf, mint and some alcohol notes. On the palate: good acidity, ripe tangerine, mint, white pepper and herbs. It has been a while since I've had a condrieu that has moved me...

  • This has calmed down, the fruit is round and smooth in green and white nuances combined with fennel, spices and soil marks. Wide and deep, this is wonderful Condrieu, mid-way through I think. No hurry to drink up.

  • Classic exotic and pear, good acidity. lacking lift and depth. Medium finish, hints of complexity. Think it would have been better when younger. I have come to realise that all but the very best Condrieu are best drunk young, i.e. within the first 3 to 4 years.

  • Light yellow. Nose is rich and generous, with deep floral and somewhat mineral notes, as well as peaches, apricots, melon, some violets and a touch of nutmeg. Mouthfeel is round, rich, full bodied, floral, somewhat mineral with moderate acidity and notes of peaches, apricots, melon, some violets and a touch of nutmeg on the very long finish.

This is a bold and full bodied wine, yet still elegant, fresh and vibrant. It's decadent and flamboyant, but very well balanced. This is just delicious!
