Rich hay yellow, slightly unclear; sweet acidic citrus notes, hint of rubber; lean attack followed by a slightly sweetish middle, ending is a bit on the dry side and a bit abrupt; a light sweetness lingering in the aftertaste for quite some time; not sure exactly what to make of it

More spatlese than kabinett. Medium acidity and too much sweetness, a warm year indeed. Some honey and floral notes, some peach and petrol to add on the palate.

Kabinett, yeah, right. Drinks more like a very ripe Spätlese with plenty of ripe peachy and faint tropical fruit tinged with limes, and more savoury burnished and honeyed notes. Lots of depth here, a creamy, polished texture on the palate, and good length. Like this a lot, though it doesn't have the sheer lightness and sense of finesse that Egon's wines usually do.

Botrytis vintage. Richer than normal for Kabinett and only 9.5% alcohol.

I agree with YOFOG - not all what I was expecting! Very syrupy, oily and sweet and lacking in acidity. A desert wine?
