Dark purple with blue and black overtones. Still an infant so I decanted this for 5 hours, checking in frequently. This was not ready, so maybe my score will increase, but I've had enough wines that are early to tell, including big boys like Tynan and Kinsman Eades. Seems a little over commercialized for my palate. It was good - don't get me wrong - but for the price of admission, the vineyard and winemaker, I was expecting more.

Slow ox'd for 15 hours and it still needed more air. These 2021's are beasts, so make sure you give them PLENTY of oxygen. Once this finally opened up, it was tremendous. If you're buying wine from this vineyard, it really doesn't get any better.
Nose is classic, gorgeous Crane, with soaring floral notes and deep candied, opulent purple fruit. It's a spectacular thing to behold. In this vintage, the palate shows fabulous, pure blue fruit but has so much more. Displays incredible density and layering shored up by strong but refined tannins and a deep well of earthy intensity on the finish. It hits 11 out of 10 on the yummy scale, but still somehow comes off as serious enough to not be thrown in the micro-ox'd, drink me in the first few months or I get incrementally worse category like some others out there. Amazing effort, could easily be perfect depending on your personal preference.
