  • Tasted at winery in Marlborough. Somewhat dark for a Pinot - medium ruby. On the nose - medium+ intensity with aromas of black cherry, raspberry, boysenberry, baking spice and sweet oak. In the mouth - medium acid and tannin, medium+ body and intensity with flavors of ripe red fruit and baking spice with a long finish. This still needs a couple years to integrate the oak, youthful today but has the complexity to improve over the next 2-4 years.

  • New Zealand Trip; 2/10/2024-2/24/2024: By the glass pour. Saturated ruby color. Deeply fruited aromas. Medium+ body. Begins with smoky, tangy cherry, spice, excellent crisp acidity, and enveloping earthiness. Unfortunately, it runs out of steam and loses intensity through the mid-palate and finish. While I very much like the first aromatic and palate impressions, it does not reach the heights of the best Central Otago Pinots that we’ve tasted during this trip.

  • Dark cherry, leathery cigar smoke. Probably devisive but I am a fan and I think it will get better with time

  • All the intensity of a super ripe new world Pinot with cherry, strawberry, vanilla and pepper. Almost Russian river valley on the nose. Med tannins lacking balance, however, to the point the intensity in flavor became cloying. Disappointing for the high end Cloudy Bay.

    WSET
Med+ nose of ripe red cherry, strawberry, vanilla, black pepper and dark chocolate. Some leather and smoke. This wine is developing.
Palate is dry, med+ acidity, med tannins, med alcohol, med - body, med+ flavor intensity. Off balance. Med length.
This wine is a good wine that you can drink now or hold for a could years of more aging. Seems not the best of Central Otago.
