  • Pucelle has long been my "go to" wine from Jean Chartron. Cailleret and Chevalier usually get more attention, but this wine tends to be seductive earlier in its lifespan and so I gravitate toward it while the others sleep. In this vintage it's ripe and easy drinking, a glou glou white. This was a barrel sample, and I'll bet the wine picks up a bit of complexity by the time it's bottled.

  • Tasted from barrel. This was scintillating. Could've been my favourite '22 wine (white) Chez Chartron, even incl. the Chevy which we had also tasted. The Chevy was certainly more regal/classy, this Pucelles just happened to be in the strike-zone - intensity, tension, crispness, length. Will be interesting to see how this appears in bottle...
