pale straw colour and very fine bubbles. white pear, very fresh pineapple, and lemony zest aromas are infused with a subtle layer of just-baked croissant with sliced almonds on top. dry and full on the entry, this wine unfolds in crisp layers of interleaved orchard and citric fruit permeated with autolytic flavours. floral notes and a hint of marzipan come thru on the very long finish.
while very well balanced, it shows a bit of the ripeness of the late-season heat spike… this should fold into the acidity with a bit more time and drink spectacularly well. upside potential here.
13.2% AbV; dosage 7.5g/L; 52% Chardonnay/ 46% Pinot Noir/ 2% Pinot Meunier; 4.9% reserve wine from 2012; five years on the lees.

Straw color with aromas of baked apple, lemon curd, white flowers, and a hint of quince. On the palate it has a soft, delicate creamy mousse with vibrant acidity and apple, white peach, quince, and lemon curd flavors. Long finish.

A notch below the '15 but still very good, with notes of Granny Smith apple and orange peel flanked by toasty brioche throughout. Medium-high acidity keeps it puckery.

The Sixth Annual World's Largest Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine (Houston, Texas): Retail $75. 52% Chardonnay, 46% Pinot Noir, 2% Pinot Meunier. Fruity and a bit yeasty on the nose with a fabulous mouthfeel and weight. Just a kiss of sweetness rounds it out nicely. Excellent. 92 Points.
