  • Bordeaux 2022 en Primeur and some recent vintages: On par with the 2010, even a bit more polished. Medium bodied, good length. I like the balance here, aromatically always a very strong wine once mature and usually attractively priced.

  • Gorgeous plum and potpourri notes dominate the nose of the 2022 Gruaud Larose. A deliciously gourmand, palate with refined tannin and a little bay. This is just so, so succulent but serious, too. Gruaud is really on track now. 94-95

  • Deep in color, with a simple swirl you find wet forest floor, cigar box, licorice, spice, flowers, and currants in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is concentrated, rich and dense, but refined, round. and juicy. Even with all that weight, the wine is vibrant, energetic, long and fresh, The finish builds in intensity, leaving you with layers of dark black, red and blue fruits, chocolate, licorice, espresso. and spice. 2022 marks the first vintage Gruaud Larose was organically certified. The wine is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc.13.65% ABV, 3.8 pH. Picking took place September 7 - September 24. Yield were 30 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2027-2060. 95-97 Pts.

Langer, leicht herber Abgang. 2030-2055+ (Verkostet "En Primeur" im April 2023 / UGCB / Château Beychevelle) #primeurs22 www.vvWine.ch

  • En Primeur campaign for the 2022 vintage Day Four (Bordeaux): Medium minus intensity aromas of muted black hued fruits, cedar and soft spice touches of red plum, quite polished. Opens with time and agitation. Spice over fruit here, a little very slight fruit cake note. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, a little cream joins the black hued fruits, tannins are drying, woody, chalky textured. Non-intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish, the tannins are slightly too intrusive but time should help. A bit hmm for me at the mo'.
