brick red color with tawniness at the edge Nose was limited and initial taste had a metalic tone, which often happens in the first few minutes of opening these old bottles. the spirit of 1982 was more present in the mind than the actual taste of the wine itself which was drinkable but not memorable.

brick red color with orange-tinged rim - old merlot nose with an over-riding smell of coffee and wet hay - moderately full body with good acid balance and resolved tannins - fruit not nearly as sweet as the 82 L'Arrosee opened at the same time - very drinkable now, but not particularly memorable - from other tasting notes, this wine has never lived up to expectations for an 82 Pomerol

Lost my first round of notes, ugh, so here we go again: Bottle purchased upon release for around $15 and stored in good cellar since. Ullage 5/8”. Stored upright for the last month to collect sediment. Cork was in good shape and was removed in one piece. Decanting was necessary as medium amounts of precipitate were present. Color was surprisingly dark in the center and normal tawniness at the edge, which seemed promising. Sadly, nose was not as promising with limited flavor elements. Noticed some plum and a fleeting licorice flavor, but very few elements seemed to develop. Later on, did note some Indian spice (leather/cumin?) and a bit of fruit yet that was it. Flavors on the palate were limited too as the wine seemed “flat” on the palate. A bit of rubber was present also. With time did notice a small amount of raspberry and pleasant acidity, but nothing truly redemptive.
Was not expecting greatness, but hoped for some intrigue. Funny, but the ’82 Mouton sold for around $49.00 around the same time as the release of the l’ Enclose.
(Served in a Burgundy style glass given its age and fragility.)

Dark ruby color, nose opens with berries and some hay. Slightly creamy and some flavors of artichoke. Past it's peak, some small traces of cassias remain. Nicer as it enters the mouth with a hot bitter coffee like finish. Wish I opened it years ago. Score reflects age. Assume it would have been higher 10 years ago.
