From magnum Very funky nose that blew off after an hour. Would have benefitted from decanting. Held together taste-wise for the evening. Muted but balanced green/plum. On the way out tho

This wine presents a mixed answer to the question, "Should I age this bottle of merlot?" Decanted off of a bit of sediment. Deep ruby with orange-brown edges. Nice but shy nose of orange peel, mushrooms, and, after awhile, pleasant black cherry notes. Medium-bodied and straightforward on the palate, as hard spices lead over cherry flavors and some woody notes. Finishes a little too quickly for a wine of this age. Altogether, a good bottle. Not over the hill by any means, but one could hope for more.

Weekly tasting group #091; A fully blind test. (@ WW): Dark garnet red. Not unpleasant chocolate impressions in the bouquet. On the palate chocolate as well, some sweetness and ok acidity. The tannin is completely dissolved. The wine is past its peak, but still drinkable. No "official" score, but for my personal reference 85 seems to be right.

Consumed from a magnum. Dark cherry, leather, some green bell peppers and other kind of stemmy fruit. Lots of green showing. One dimensional finish. Good but nothing special. Glad I finally found a reason/occasion to consume this mag.

Hints of black cherry and currant. Nicely rounded and mellow mouth feel. Lacking complexity on the finish though.
