(Koehler-Ruprecht Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Auslese Trocken) Sea salt, paprika, bittersweet chocolate on the super complex nose. Brooding very layered nose. Clos St. Hune like? Unbelieavable complexity and length in the mouth. Very ripe but distinctly dry and minerally on the finish. Very cerebral stuff. Not for everybody but I thought it was friggin' brilliant.

Guessed the wine right, but thought 95 or 96.great wine. Timeless, less fruit but more chalky and saline elements. At the end citrus and herbal notes. 95

Zum Schluß der beste Wein des Abends für mich und viele andere. Uwe hatte ihn aus Versehen mitgebracht (geplant war 2007) und nach einigem Überreden (Philipp und Ingo sei Dank) fand die Flasche ihr natürliches Ende. Koehler-Ruprecht’s Kallstädter Saumagen Auslese trocken 1997 war die Quintessence des Abends: top balanciert, extrem frisch, konzentriert, druckvoll, glasklarer Abgang. So muß/sollte/könnte reifer trockener Top-Riesling schmecken. 97-98
