Opened and followed over 3 hours or so. Initially it was pretty tightly wound, and it needed about an hour of air to open up. Once it did open up, this was really great. Seems to just be picking up some secondary characteristics. Very silky. Very nice. Good now, though probably will continue to improve for a few years.

Very enjoyable. The fruit here is dense and the wine is only showing some of the charms and nuance that will emerge with more time in the cellar. Right now, it's a tightly wound core of dark fruit, gripped tight by a tannic and acidic structure that, while is soft and round on the sides rather than dry and angular, is still not letting much out. It's like the structure is teasing you by revealing only hints at what's to come. Grateful Dead Night #2 at Lyle's.

Excellent. Primary red fruits are very much present and spread over a structure of velvety tannins. Midweighted.
