88-89 pts
p.s.: lu sur Vinous : In the 1980s, Philippe Alliet bought his barriques from Château Margaux and produced a liberally oaked style, but the love affair with small oak barrels has fizzled out. In 2011, 500-liter barrels were ushered in, and in 2014, the estate said a final farewell to the Bordeaux barriques.

This seems to be cozying into a nicely mature spot. Shows redder cranberry towards the finish but up front its darker, richer with the classic leafy Cab like notes. Maybe a touch of oak in there. Somewhat smooth or polished but not overtly. Light tannin at this point. A very nice wine but without a lot of distinction.

After a Baudry Croix boissée of the same year: more dark fruit and elevage notes (barrel), rounder with nice saline notes, but less bell pepper and soil. I prefer the Baudry, which seems less interventionist. This was my last one.

Dark fruit, black berries, black cherries, graphite, some leather. For the first time things are totally together, agree with d‘Artagnan that this wine does not match fully the expectations, but not bad nevertheless.
