Plenty going on straight away. Notes of mint, beeswax, hay and salt. It is full and fleshy, with both good volume and precision. There's richness but it is not too heavy and finishes clean, with lemon and minerals booting in.

France Trip: Paris, Champagne, Burgundy; 9/3/2023-9/17/2023 (Paris, Champagne, Burgundy): Pale gold color. Drank a small glass from tank at Domaine Christian Moreau Pere et Fils. During the heart of the harvest, what fun to walk through the winery with Fabien Moreau tasting all the 2022's from tank as the 2023 grapes were coming in! Fabienne was kind and generous in giving us his time and making us feel welcome. This was the first vintage in 5 years with no frost as he noted. The AOC Chablis is showing nicely already, tasted twice, first from tank and then from bottle (just bottled last week). Classic, green apple, elegant a touch of lychee, very fresh. 12.2% abv. 90+ to 91pts on both.

87-88 pts

Les Portes d'Or de la Bourgogne - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (William Fèvre's Vineyards - Chablis): Walkaround tasting with producers. So easy and fun, but with good structure, too. Both rich and classically Chablis.

Served by the glass. Steely golden color. White apricot and sweet lemony ricotta dominate. Dry, crisp palate, with good acidity.
I enjoyed this more than I expected to. It’s very engaging. Impressive “by the glass” offering at Sistina (Manhattan).
