My bottle of this wine came with some excellent provenance as it was recently acquired. Tertiary and style some might call dirty, but in the glass it exploded with some deep black fruit compote and if there was ever a wine that emulated bottled black truffles this would be it. Also concerned that it might have needed some air but it did and it shown well after an hour open with no shutdown. Also some beautiful Bay leaf, sandalwood, cedar and aged Merlot characteristic more so than Sangiovese.

When first opened, at our favorite local BYOB Kitchen A Bistro, there was concern the wine was past its prime. Very delicate bouquet, muted fruits, and the lightest hint of tannin's. In 30 minutes the wine opened up like a bulb in spring awakening from its winter slumber, and bloomed with super splendor. Deep rich dark fruits went wonderfully with a tomato bread soup, and the soft mouth feel caressed the duck confit. It was wonderful pairing and time to drink up any remaining bottles. Great example of an approachable IGT Tuscan at its prime.
