  Indecently good for £6.49. Candidate for the best pound for pound wine in the UK? If you consider Fontodi and Bucerchiale to be a weekend treat then you might be pleasantly surprised by this as a midweek option. Everything Paul Dove says below, but no longer coarse or rustic now, has smoothed out.

  New vintage for this often coarsely rustic but always interesting and authentic Lidl staple. And it's a definite thumbs up with nice cherry fruit, pretty rose petal and violet aromatics, dusky tannins and spice and a hint of leather. Still quite rough and rustic but, this year, in a good way.
