New Zealand Trip; 2/10/2024-2/24/2024: Fading light ruby. Florals and cola scents. Medium weight, good sap to it. Slightly sweet dark red fruit, some obvious oak, light soil and herbs, moderate drying tannins. This is more complex and overtly New World than it seemed from the nose, but it doesn’t hold a candle to many of the other NZ Pinots we’ve had over the past 10 days in either depth or subtlety.

Classic clear pale ruby colour in the glass. Lovely red fruit aroma with pomegranate, raspberries and strawberries. Front palate has a syrupy fruit element that rolls through smoothly until a long finish that ends on a green note for me with some bitterness that detracted from an otherwise solid effort. Decanted and drunk over 4 hours.
