Stinky at first, sulphur, then blows off. Bright fruit, off flavors. Bright cherry expands and pleasure deepens with air. Breathtaking balance and texture. food wine. needs time open.

A little orange around the rim. Very burg like. This has aged into a wine full of bright fruit, but also tobacco notes, and a myriad of spices. Really beautiful pinot noir. 90-91

Prior note holds, although nose giving a lot more than before right after popping it. Also, an oaky, vanilla component on the midpalate that wasn't evident before.

Characteristically Kiwi. A rail of vibrant acidity carries lush raspberry and cherry notes from the nose to the finish. It's not at all candied or toffee-heavy, like some New World Pinots are. On the other hand, it lacks the spice, floral, and sandalwood notes that I often find so alluring in New World Pinots. In other words, it's solid, even refined, but not particularly sexy.

Definitely needs time to open up. Dark ruby color. Rich, floral nose of raspberry and some earth and a little flint. Palate shows a fair amount of fruity intensity, with classic strawberries and raspberries along with some cherries. Nice acidity that comes into balance after some air - a bit too dominant initially, but it really settles down. Tannins are in balance as well on the medium to long finish. Not particularly elegant, but a lot going on and worth a try.
