Lovely, lovely bottle, beautifully structured, everything in the right place, syrah in a California mode, neither wholly Rhonish, nor spoofed or overripe. Very, very fine.

This was very good. Blueberries and blackberries, creosote, wet limestone, great minerality. Good acid, somewhat astringent but not offensive. Shows cool climate characteristics. Great to see a producer focused on Pinots make a true to form Syrah.

This was good. Had that unmistakeable sweet fruit that pegged it as a wine from California, but in a nicely balanced more lithe package than others out there. Really nice, and exactly what I would ask for in a Califronia syrah. Mostly fruit right now, with some of the meaty syrah flavors lurking around in the background. It's not a hugely structured wine, the tannins aren't obtrusive, but the balance is such that you could leave some of this in the cellar to see if the secondary characteristics will start to come out a bit more. For $25... yes indeed.

A very nice, restrained, well-balanced syrah. Especially for the $$$.

Lighter style syrah, juicy, straightforward, good balance, quaffable, decent value.
