This was surely WOTN. Steely with good freshness, absolutely fascinating mint flavors on top of the mineral backbone. Complex with deep flavors beautifully matured and great example of nicely aged 1er cru.

Joseph Drouhin '06 Burgundy Preview (Specialty Imports): Liked the '05 better. Green apple, herb, and steel on the nose. A bit of stonefruit on the palate at first with a touch of richness, then falls a little thin. Acid finishes very high and a bit hollow in the midpalate. Lemon peel and minerals.

My second bottle of the wine equally good as the other one. Lovely example of the graceful aging of a good premier cru.

Drouhin 2006 preview and friends: lively acidity. Steely. Almost puckering. Great green apple fruit. Quite pleasant. 88+
