Surprised to see how open this bottle showed tonight versus another bottle last week. It expressed violets, purple fruit, perfume, animal and grilled meat. Palate was ethereal with good fruit purity along with medium length and concentration. Drinking very well. 92-93

The 06 Meo Echezeaux required time in the glass to fully blossom with tea, orange peel, grilled meat, darkish red fruit, spice and animal. On the palate, it had good grip and density but the sweetness had not fully unleashed. Interesting to see how it develops. I see upside from aging for another 3-5 years.

Nose: rose petals, spices, truffles, almonds, coffee, musk Notes: medium bodied with intense aroma. Great nose with excellent complexity. Despite the fact that this wine can safely age for at least another 12-15 years, I'm guessing the optimal drinking window will begin in 2-3 years. As time went by it went downhill a little towards the end but this is still a wonderful Burgundy. Ratings: 91 Drink: 2025+

a bit mercaptan-y when first opened though with time it largely blew off. nose otherwise of blackberry, dirt, and funk. still some road tar but I could handle it. mouth - complex, charcoal, brooding dark fruit, rich. needed the food to put it in balance.

Allowed 2 hour of slow-ox in bottle. Beautiful red fruits and mineral in the balanced and intense bouquet. Grand cru texture with very fine acidity. Very good now.
