Rich garnet color. Very California with iodine (a bit of a surprise in a vintage like '06) along with cherries (expected) and black pepper (nice!), classic cherry cola Carneros finish. Holding up VERY well--good to the last drop.

Popped and poured. Hints of stewed fruit and really nice secondary flavors of bacon and a bit of leather have developed. Over the course of the bottle, as is usually the case, the wine really improved, going from Good, to Very Good, to the verge of Excellent.

On the nose, a deep black raspberry nose with a bit of eucalyptus and heat (14.2%). After a swirl or two, the raspberry evolves into more of a sour cherry on the palate but overall, there is not a ton of fruit here, mostly acid and a hint of tannin. Certainly not an overblown fruit bomb, but rather a food friendly, nice pinot.

Medium light red color3mm pale meniscus at margin. Aearted, but did not decant. This was the last of my bottles and was a fitting conclusion. Nose is still floral , but, it is tapering, now more strawberry fruit, earth, cedar, a bit of a dusty character, and lots of peppery spices. Elegance on the palate, a lighter style with nice depth of flavors, consistent on the palate, has a rather spicy finish. Tannins have integrated nicely.

Typical cherry cola. But a bit more balanced and more nose than the Keller Pinot Noir. Not as complex as the Laetitia Pinot Noir.
