As soon as I poured a glass for Mr. Peepers and stuck my nose in it, I said "Honey, you're going to love this wine!" Giant juicy berry fruit on the nose. Light in body and brick red in color. As soon as I tasted it, I knew I would love it too. Not suprising as it is 72% Grenache. Unlike the bottle of L'Aventure earlier this week, there is not an overpowering smell of Alcohol in this wine. It is very smooth, has a nice long finish and very pleasant to drink.
I chose this bottle to accompany a Tomahawk steak that I will be searing (post sous vide) on my newly refurbished Weber Genesis. And yes I refurbished it myself! Can you imagine? The Lady Dodo Bellacourt herself has kicked the morphine habit and replaced it all with good hard scrubbing and grill refurbishing! Who could guess?
I know this wine is suppose to be past its prime, but it's drinking wonderfully now, so if you still have a bottle, do not despair. Enjoy!

Dark purple in the glass. Bouquet of maraschino cherries, leather and sage. Was a bit lighter than I originally suspected, medium body. Nice, long finish.

Balanced acidity, long finish. Classic Grenache taste coming through.
Smooth texture. Full body.
