Best Vosne village wines: My first proper Rouget and this was very lovely from the get-go. Floral and perfumed nose that was unmistakably Vosne, drinking much younger than its age. It had a very defined structure that allowed the sappy red fruit and silky tannins to shine through, but the only minor quibble was that the finish was not as imposing as the Leroy.

I opened my last bottle of this wine to help the French celebrate Bastille Day and I am glad that I did. My advice to anyone who still has some is to drink up over the next few months. It remains classy but has lost its shine. Drink up.

A wonderful perfumed aroma led to a rich and generous entry with fine, polished fruit. The lingering impression was one of sumptuousness. No hurry to drink up.

Fragrant nose of sappy red cherry, strawberry, and raspberry. Vosne aromatics of clove and nutmeg. Lush fruit on the palate with a nice bit of minerality. Good acid as well. A very nice village level wine.
