  • Not bat, but definitely fell short compared to its younger years. 2007s should be drunk young. Nose was typical bordeaux with some earth, fruit and oak, but fell a little short. Tannins are still there, but the fruit seemed to have thinned. Raspberry and cherry fruit came through, but far less than before. I remember this being exceptional when it was young, but it has lost a lot of the memorable characteristics. Drink now before it is too late. 88 points.

  • Drank this at Voons chateau. No formal tasting notes. Remember it was better than the 08 Bergey. Although the Bergey improved immensely since the future tasting.

  • Drank at the Bread Bar, Hamilton. This drank pretty much just as well as I thought it would. The nose is subtle of red berries, sour plum, tobacco, undergrowth, green herbs, and cedar. The palate is light and acidic with mellow tannin and a slightly bitter finish. Pretty much exactly what I would want from this early drinking vintage, but at the same time not terribly exciting either. Could probably go a few more years, but I doubt it will improve. I'm happy for the $34 CAD I paid for this.

  • Drank at Paese. Nose took about an hour to come into full stride but never became all that interesting, overall not surprisingly a quite lean, tough wine without much fruit. Dark cherry, some earth, kisses of black raspberries, and raw beef. Palate is soft with moderate tannic structure. I'll try my next bottle in 3 - 5 years, hopefully the fruit doesn't dry up too much by then!

  • Meaty, earthy & slight black fruit nose at the open. Nose diminished since that. The wine has not much fruit left. Plum and herbal palate and ok smooth. I expected more aromas from this wine at this price, but I didn't get them. Maybe it's because the 2007 vintage.
