This was unfortunately over the hill. Drinkable but the OTH aspects of oxidation, low acid, ghee, honey are too prominent. Too bad, I was hoping to get lucky with a notoriously long-lived producer. I hope this was the nadir of the bottles purchased at auction.

Ever since I bought this last November I'd been regretting the purchase and been reluctant to pull the cork. I'd been worried it was most likely premoxed. Opened tonight with whole trout and was pleasantly surprised even to the point of doing a 180 and wishing I had bought more than one. Towards the very very last sips around 90 minutes in there was the tiniest amount for premox slipping in but even then nothing that would ruin it, tonight. For most of the evening this was stellar and drinking well above its humble SLB appellation. Early on I was even thinking how much it reminded me of Grand Cru Puligny Montrachet. This had lip smacking minerality and a solid core of fruit that was simply delicious. The nose was super clean till the very very end. The color was a scary amber yellow gold. Do I really want more, well, one more might have been fun. This was great but don't sit on these. Paid $20 and a steal if you get a clean healthy btl like tonight's.

Tasty. Nose had the wooly/felt fabric note others have mentioned. Also some nice white fruits. The palate brings a lot more than the nose does--melon, touch of orchard fruit, honeycomb waxiness, and a good weight. Easy to enjoy, both easy to drink and fairly interesting.

Love the profile in these wines with honey, honeycomb, wax, pear and peaches, mineral and seashell on an slight oxidative framework.
