Drinking incredibly well right now, but I suspect this still has a few more years in it (unlikely to get much better though). Really well balanced Pinot, good earth characteristics, some drier red fruits. Very enjoyable. Feels like a good food wine.

375ml Fill level was down to bottom of neck, close to top of shoulder. PnP (maybe should have decant an hour). Color still very vibrant, only slight browness to it. Intense & ripe fruit & berries. IMHO, could use some more acidity & tannin (but I probably should of decant first). Very enjoyable regardless.

Medium-dark ruby with some bricking. Initial reduction gives way to ripe red fruits, dried flowers, and caramel on the nose. Red fruits and herbs on the palate. On the downslope, but there's life left. Drink up.

(Cristom Pinot Noir Sommers Reserve, Willamette Valley) Bright ruby in color, with a pale pink rim and medium concentration. There is always a high percentage of whole-cluster fruit in the Cristom wines, and the Sommers Reserve shows the exotic perfume, spice, and stem aromas that can also be found in the wines of Domaine Dujac or Domaine de l’Arlot in Burgundy. Wild red cherry and raspberry complete the aromatic profile, leading to sweet red fruit on the palate. More spice and stem notes are found in the mouth, with an underlying stony minerality and arthiness, along with sweet oak flavors in the distant background. The fruit for this wine is sourced from 15 sites, including Cristom’s four estate vineyards; the Reserve designation indicates longer barrel aging and more severe selection by winemaker Steve Doerner. Consistent with prior notes, except I detected additional citrus notes on the palate. Still good.
