In glass for an hour before tasting. Light bouquet with a bit of chocolate. Still fairly rich without oxidation. Complex middle palate of an old Bordeaux. It finishes overly sharp and astringent. Remarkably good considering it’s 30 years - I’m only assuming it wasn’t vinted to last quite this long. It would be nice to remember what it was like 15-20 years ago, but I don’t.

Really nice, which was surprising given the age, but it held up well for an hour (and then it died in a Madeira mess). Peak was between 30 and 45 minutes after opening. Lots of lush fruit still left, worth a shot!

This wine was excellent. It still had a ruby color. The nose was blackberry and very deep. Legs were medium, but the wine had hints of blackberry, licorice and cherry. Had with steak and it was fantastic. I wish that I had more. Would rate it a 92.

92. This was an orphan bottle. It got lost in my feller until I started to use cellar tracker. the cork fell apart, but after some air this wine was outstanding. The nose was blackberry with licorice. Color was still ruby and the legs were medium. Had with steak and for the age the wine was remarkable. I wish that I had more in my cellar.

Sadly cork went soft, and more than likely due to improper storage over the last twenty years.
