  • Monthly Tasting Group HWS #106; Provence (By BD): In the bouquet some faint yellow fruits, hazelnuts, slightly oxidized and polishing wax impressions. On the palate special and complex with still some apricots and peach, also flowers like roses, nuts, a slight touch of sweetness, some oak, mild acidity and bitterness. Definitely a very mature wine, but complex and lovely and the wine of the flight.

  • Incredibly complex, with mineral notes, but also citrus peel, apricot and hazelnuts. Will keep for several more years.

  • Golden colour of medium intensity. Nose of medium intensity with earthy and petrol minerality, slight hints of oxidation which are not off-putting, wet wool and orange peel, also almonds. Mouth is of medium body with petrol flavours, citrus fruit remarkably fresh for the age of the wine, herbaceousness (asparagus) and dried nuts. Has elegant mouth-feel with high acidity balanced well by the flavours. In any case a curious wine, with just a slight sherry character. I do not know when the best time for drinking it was, but now after 13 years it sure is not out of condition. The wine is really good and enjoyable and any oxidation can be attributed to the style, the mouth is really elegant - not your average oxidized wine - but... to wait 13 years for it is a little too much. A wine for people who enjoy curiosities. Happy to have tasted it.

  • Had no idea what to expect here. Ended up being a very enjoyable wine. Bright, floral notes on the nose and palate. Did not get any white Rhone oxidative scents or tastes. Medium body with a really nice palate feel. Pretty singular and quite enjoyable.
    My discrete CT scale: 95-extraordinary; 90-very good; 85-good; 80-fair; 75-poor
