  • Mike Grammer was in town and after he perused my cellar requested to try an aged Beaujolais. This was the oldest one in the cellar. Pooped and poured. Light ruby in color but no browning. The nose was feminine and cherries, mostly, with a slight bit of earthiness. On the palate, this drank like a 1er Cru Burgundy with some age on it. Really pretty delightful for my tastes. Some complexity, room to grow, with layered cherries and good balance. Nice wine and good to remember there were good vintages before 2009.
