The last bottle of what was originally six cases. It is drinking beautifully and has plenty of life left but can't see it improving. The balance of the wine has always been strongly towards the fruit, and it could have done with more freshness but a lovely wine nevertheless.

Still youthful and now quite open versus last encounter a decade ago. Dark fruits, slight earth notes. Seems mostly Syrah but some Mourvèdre elements that make you smile. Gritty, but easy, tannins in play which add balance, but acidity is ‘soft’. One left; might wait 2-5 years to open.

(Château de Beaucastel Côtes du Rhône Coudoulet de Beaucastel) Very dark red violet color; odd, light, green herbal, green mint nose; tight, herbal, green, tart berry palate; medium-plus finish

Nice warm resolved CdR.
As always a good Côtes du Rhône but nothing like the Chateau.

A bit large for my taste but paired well with Wagyu ribeye.

16 years of cellaring is probably too much! Still tasty but I think I would have enjoyed it more earlier. Guessing 8-10 years.
