Quick sip at a Merchant. Very lean and tannic, not really a pleasure despite the bottle age at which there are no more excuses for rough tannins. Good aromas though, earthy, green notes. Palate 86, Nose 91.

Ruby red with bricking. Classy burgundian nose- forest-floor, morello cherries, vanilla and asian spice. Palate is on the modern side- ripe and sweet crushed red berries, good inner mouth perfume of wood spice, medium acidity, no tannins and an earthy finish.

Chablis, Dom. Laurent, Suduiraut, Madeira (John V.'s): Ruby in color, slightly flat. The nose is earthy with cherries and a bit of a "decayed flesh" (which I like) note. Later in the evening a bit of a celery note (that I did not like) emerges. Just a hint of sweetness on the attack Cherries with just a bit of woodiness. Complex. A very slight menthol note. Nice finish. A very pretty wine although the nose is better than the palate.

dark ruby, non-transparent. Lack of expressive nose but strong and long aftertaste from a bottle of burgundy.
