Terroir-istes International - Australia-Riesling (Rodwell House): Mid lemon in colour, the nose is expressive with apple skin, elderflower, tinned pineapple and lime cordial. Medium-bodied, the wine has a richness to the ripe fruits, a touch of RS and quite some power. Flavours of orange, and yellow flowers, mineral and wet stone, and Forelle pears intrigue, whilst a pithy, chalky acid adds texture. Long in length with good depth of flavour.

Plantagenet, Great Southern, Western Australia - Tasting by Roberts & Speight (Beverley, UK): Similar in colour to the Omrah (Unoaked) Chardonnay (very pale yellow / gold), the 2007 Riesling exhibits an attractive nose of petrol, pears, honey and some slight citrus aromas. Medium bodied and dry with lively acidity, the palate is flooded with flavours lemon and lime, pears and honey all intermixed with petrol tones. A complex wine with a slightly syrupy mouth feel, which puts me off a little. Nevertheless this is well made and deserves the points. Fresh acidity is present on a long and intense finish. £10.99 per bottle.
