Enjoyed this a great deal with steaks. Bought for $20 at Wine Cellar in Red Bank NJ on their recommendation. Great bouquet. I though it had traces of pine but nobody else at the table agreed. Bold, though lacking a bit in depth or dimension, highly enjoyable. I wish I had more. Was not nearly as pleasant the 2nd night.

Deep, impenetrable violet color on the glass. It reveals a dark, heavy character on the nose offering blackberry, cassis and plum on smoke and cocoa notes. The fruit is of good quality but it's somehow overwhelming and overextracted. The attack is heavy and stays heavy in the mouth, again revealing heavy extraction. Good quality of the fruit that, however, at times feel overripe (Alcohol 14.5%). The winemaker's choice of style is clearly towards the highly intense, deep side making the wine lack necessary freshness. Definetely not my style.
