Followed for about an hour, this actually took a few minutes to sort itself out and then drank well without flagging until the bottle was finished. Raspberry, star anise, cardamom, rose, earth, old oak. Big whispy and ephemeral nose.

Chicago Wine Flock...Gary Opening Well Aged Barolo (Ada Street - Chicago IL): Open several hours before serving with a quick decant 30 minutes before poured. Perfued start with great spice and dried rose petals. Red cherry and berry aromas and flavors with great textural elements. Stayed consistently charming for the hour in glass. Wow.

Opened about 12 hours prior to dinner, faint rose color, some old nebbiolo character, but too harsh and uni-dimensional. I decanted the wine and followed it over the day as we were cooking etc.. and it perked up a little, but never really became good. It did not collapse and kept it's bright rosy hue. Some interesting aged aromas, but really just too old.

Tasting of Italy by the DRC-club (Brugweg - Velp): Very old, tired, but still agreeable. But no rating. Drink now.
