  • Despite being 10 years old, this wine is deep garnet with no signs of pink or amber. Nose, however, betrays some age. Strong bouquet of mushrooms, forest floor, and soy sauce with a hint of cedar. Mouthfeel is medium weight but becoming more lush with each minute in the glass. Pleasant palate reveals chocolate, peat, leather, black tea, and pumpkin pie spices. The amazing part about this wine to me, is the wonderful balance. I can't imagine that this wine, from an off year in Washington, was nearly this enjoyable on release. I paid $84 for a case of this last year at a Columbia Winery sale. Without a doubt this is the best wine I have had from Columbia.
