  • Just a great example of the excellent wine available from the Languedoc.

  • Found this to be strange and wonderful at once. Notes similar to other tasters, but the texture reminded me of pinot noir even though it did not taste like a PN. Good wine.

  • Dark fruit aromas of brambly blackberry and plum, herbs, light coffee, wet cocoa powder with earth.
The palate of mulled blackberry, briar patch, cranberry, sour cherry, wood and earth. tannins are well integrated and multiple acids play on the palate. The finish is balanced.

  • The Château de Lascaux Coteaux du Languedoc is a ruby hued wine with a medium body. The nose is fairly restrained with faint hints of red raspberry, lavender and garrigue, and earth. Tastes of raspberries and scorched earth ride on a slightly plush texture that has a slightly briary edge to it. The finish has good hang time with red raspberry, solid mineral acidity, with earth and oak kicking in at the end. Ringing in at the $15 price point, this delivers solid value, a fair level of sophistication, and enough tension that it won't disappoint even the jaded. Kudos to Château de Lascaux and Kermit Lynch Selections.

  • The Chateau de Lascaux is a ruby red wine with a medium body. The nose is relatively straight-forward with black cherry and smoke. Soft in the mouth, yet has a slightly brambly texture with tastes of black cherry, raisins and dust. The finish has more black cherry, raisin and dust, ending with a gripping peppery edge. Nice structure, neither austere, nor overdone. Just enough of everything to made it hang together very nicely.
